Wateshwar is a very old, beautiful temple situated on the banks of river Karha. It still has that ancient historical look, unlike most old temples these days which are renovated, painted and tiled :-( .
Am not a religious person at all, but for some reason, Wateshwar mandir is very close to my heart. I've had a great time with my cousins frollicking in the Karha waters behind the temple during childhood.

I hate it too when old stone temples are painted in cheap oil paint. "Moraya Gosavi" temple in Chinchwad is the nearest example. पार रयाच जाते सगळी जुन्या बांधकामाची :-( देहूरोडजवळचं "घोरवडेश्वर" नामक गुहेतलं शिवालय पाहिलं असशीलच. that's one of my favs.
