Let there be light

Pic taken from inside Wateshwar mandir at Saswad.

Wateshwar is a very old, beautiful temple situated on the banks of river Karha. It still has that ancient historical look, unlike most old temples these days which are renovated, painted and tiled :-( .

Am not a religious person at all, but for some reason, Wateshwar mandir is very close to my heart. I've had a great time with my cousins frollicking in the Karha waters behind the temple during childhood.

All that glitters

Indrayani

Guess where this beautiful place is?

Its right behind our company .. Kanbay in Talawde. This small bridge over the Indrayani river was almost submerged 2 weeks ago when it rained heavily here.
Thanks to Burrrrrr for showing me this lovely place :)

At Murud beach

A welcome change after the past few "fishy" posts :-p

Sun dried fish at Harne

Fish auction at Harne port

Variety of prawns being auctioned. Maharashtra and neighboring states owe Harne port for the supply of fish. Crores of deals closed within hours every evening in the auction, and all cash transactions!! Fish is bought mainly by 5-star hotels or is shipped away to supply other states or to Mumbai/Cochin to be exported. Somehow I lost my appetite for fish after watching this auction :-S It might be quite some time before I start having fish again..not that I was very fond of it anyway..

Little birdie

It kills to be reminded that I screwed up the video of this little birdie :'(
It was such an endearing sight!!
This little guy slowly tiptoed toward the waves, and when a wave came gushing, he rushed backwards with small hurried baby steps. This continued over and over again and it brought a big smile to my face. It was like watching an innocent 2 year old frolicking in water.
God knows how, I failed to record the video properly :-(
This pic hardly gives an idea of what I am talking about, but this is all I have.

Pleasant evening

This pic is what I think a perfect symbol of a pleasant evening by the beach: a beer, an ash tray, candle light and the expanse of the infinite ocean ahead.

Now before you start getting any ideas: I neither drink nor smoke :-D This pic is of the table next to ours in a nice little shack at Arambol beach :-)

Couldnt capture the setting so well, but liked it nonetheless..

In the box!

Mum sitting in the jetty while I capture this pic from the deck :-)

Melancholy

I liked this pic for the sad, melancholy feeling that it exudes.. It looks like some war-torn area or something like it...

Colors!

LOL!!!

Next time you visit Amboli ghat... dont forget to check out the traffic signs and speed limit boards there..LOL!! :-D

Church

Churches in Goa are grand and beautiful. During my next visit I will make sure to visit more of them..

Peace

Making waves!

Go Goa!

Its a different experience altogether to dine at the shacks in Goa. After the sunset, when darkness threatens to take over, the innumerable shacks lining the beach spring to life in all their boistrous glory.
Beautifully lit up, they exude a striking festive atmosphere : Live Goan music, dancing, singing, merry-making, delicious Goan cuisine...
Or simply enjoy soft music mingled with the sound of the waves and a wonderful candle-light dinner.
Nothing beats Goa!
Here's a pic of one of the shacks at a comparatively lesser crowded Benaulim beach in South Goa.

Stunned!

I was stunned by the scenic beauty and serenity of this place - Madupetty dam. One of the places which have made a lasting impression on my mind. Its such places that make me yearn for travel more than ever.

Green. Green as far my eyes could see!

Flowers!

The blue Kurinji flowers. They bloom only once in 12 years!

Loved the bright red color against the clear blue sky.

Lotuses!

Reaching high

These eucalyptus trees reaching high up in the sky somehow seemed strangely formidable and beautiful to me at the same time
